    History and Affiliations: Hicks & Associates CPAs was formed on October 2011. Previously, David was a partner at a Kentucky firm for 13 years and responsible for managing approximately 110-125 attest engagements each year. Prior to joining the Lexington firm in 1994, David was a senior auditor with a regional firm. He was responsible for representing the U.S. Office of Inspector General on multiple audits and investigations throughout the U.S. for the following federal agencies: • United States of Environmental Protection Agency • United States of Health and Human Services • United States of Department of Labor • United States of Housing and Urban Development • United States of Appalachian Region Commission • United States of Department of Transportation • United States of Department of Agriculture The past 30 years of David's professional experience includes expert witness litigation cases, financial, performance, compliance and internal control audits and other attest and consulting engagements on various organizations. He has also prepared income tax returns for a variety of organizations during this period. David is currently accredited or a member of the following professional affiliations: • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) • Certified Financial Forensics (CFF) • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) • Certified Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) • Forensic and Valuation Services (CFS) • Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) • Government Audit Quality Center (GAQC) • American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) • Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA) David has obtained the training and experience requirements needed to be a qualified Peer Reviewer under the standards established by the AICPA. He is currently a volunteer among 50 members of the Peer Review Alliance Committee which oversees seven states' peer review process of over 2,400 firms, including the Kentucky peer review process. He was also a previous Chair of the Kentucky Peer Review Committee.
