  • Mari McConathy

    Pilates Instructor

Mari is a former ballet dancer who came across Pilates when looking for a way to get back in shape after the birth of her fourth child. Pilates was a natural choice due to its emphasis on core strength and flexibility. Mari has over 35 years of experience as a ballet dancer and teacher.  She uses her experience and combines it with her passion for health and fitness to help her clients gain strength, flexibility and ease of movement. Mari’s clients may not have dreams of being dancers themselves but with her help they can have the strength, balance and grace of one. Mari did the majority of her Pilates instructor training under the guidance of a Physical Therapist. The mentoring she received has helped her to specialize in helping clients during post rehabilitation and with conditions such as osteoporosis and scoliosis move, feel, and look better. Her clients range in age from 12 to 94. Each client has a different goal and ability level. Mari is able to design a program that is customized to each of their needs. In addition to being a fully certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor, Mari is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine® (NASM®) Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Weight Loss Specialist, Women’s Fitness Specialist, Senior Fitness Specialist and Fitness Nutrition Specialist. She is a certified American Council on Exercise® (ACE®) Group Fitness Instructor and Weight Loss Specialist and a licensed Pilates for Buff Bones® instructor, Barre Above instructor and TRX Suspension Training instructor. In 2017, Mari completed her training for Carolyne Anthony’s Women’s Health & Exercise Certification™.

  • Lindy Hester

    Pilates Instructor

Lindy started her Pilates journey when a friend introduced her to the method, and she started taking mat classes and working on the reformer.  She had been teaching group strength training classes for 5 years and was intrigued with the attention to the mind/body connection Pilates offered, that is sometimes not present in your typical cardio-strength training group classes. That, paired with the changes she saw in her own body resulted in diving in even deeper to learn more! She was certified on the Reformer, Cadillac, Exo-chair and mat by Power Pilates in New York and started her career by adding the Pilates Method to the other things she loved to teach. After 20 years, Lindy says group classes are still her passion!  Offering fun but challenging workouts, she loves getting to know her students and encouraging each one of them to reach and exceed their goals!

  • Lisa Strong-Muenow

    Pilates Instructor

Lisa first discovered Pilates after a horseback riding accident in Australia. The Physical Therapy Clinic she was referred to used Stotts reformers and was a Stotts Pilates training center. After a few sessions she discovered her body felt and moved better than it had in years.  She found that Pilates eliminated her lower back pain, improved her posture, and increased her overall strength and flexibility. She was hooked! In the fall of 2013, she began the comprehensive Pilates teacher training program through Stotts Pilates. Soon she made a huge career change when she began teaching at Bodyworks Physical Therapy center in Perth, Australia. The incredible training, support and encouragement she received from the gifted master instructors prompted her to continue studying. Lisa has completed multiple courses in Scoliosis management, knee/hip stability and function, and movement modification for all bodies. Lisa expanded her Pilates Certifications upon completion of the Post Rehabilitative Conditioning Course through Stotts Pilates and continually studies with a Pilates Master Instructor primarily focusing on rehabilitative Pilates. She plans to expand her Pilates practice with specialty training with the Oov in the near future. She wholeheartedly believes that Pilates is a wonderful tool for moving in a supportive environment, no matter what age, size or flexibility level. She is here to help you get strong, and find your own inner strength no matter your ability. Her favorite reaction from clients is the “aha” moment when it all clicks and they discover the Pilates magic for themselves. The journey is very personal and she believes Pilates works for EVERY BODY!

  • Phyllis Bertram-Arnett

    Pilates Instructor

Phyllis has been a certified Pilates instructor since 2004 but her training began a couple of years before. She was teaching strength and cardio classes at Body Works when the owner suggested she try a Pilates reformer session. Phyllis was surprised by how challenging the workout was. It revealed many weakness and a significant loss in flexibility most likely from her repetitive motion of running and triathlon training. Phyllis was hooked and felt better after each session. The mindful Pilates exercises were helping her body in ways that strength training had not.  She knew that Pilates was the key to getting her body back in balance to continue any vigorous competitive training. She wanted to share this knowledge with her fellow aging athlete friends so she offered them mat classes which she still teaches today. Phyllis also worked in the field of Physical Rehabilitation and knew what a great rehab tool Pilates could be for various physical ailments. She loves that Pilates exercises are for people of all ages and stages of fitness with so many modifications and progressions. Pilates teaches us to engage muscles that we didn't know we had. It teaches us how to breath and initiate movement from our core giving us strength through lengthening of our muscles. She tries to emphasize these components of Pilates in every class or private session. Phyllis uses her Pilates skills daily with her personal training clients as well as her Pilates clients. She is a certified Power Pilates Instructor. She has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from UK and is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine.

  • Cayla Combs-Miller

    Pilates Instructor

Cayla has always been an athlete and has participated in a number of sports throughout her life. She was a member of the women’s golf team while a student at Transylvania University, which peaked Cayla’s interest in various cross training methods to progress her game and stay fit in the off season. She quickly learned that a Pilates practice is what makes her body feel its very best, whether she is on the golf course or sitting at a desk for hours at a time. Cayla became very interested in Pilates because of its ability to lengthen and strengthen muscles in a safe and healthy way for all bodies. She is amazed at the fast progress in the tone of her muscles, but she is even more impressed at Pilates ability to alleviate pain in her back and neck muscles. While Cayla was in Louisville for law school, she participated in the Club Pilates Teacher Training Program where she was trained extensively under the Club Pilates method. Cayla enjoys teaching with the classical Pilates method as her foundation, while also incorporating more athletic work with the barre, chair, and springboard.
